Meet the Kings County Veteran's Service Office Staff
Scott HolwellKings County Public Guardian and Veterans Service Officer
Scott grew up in Hot Springs, South Dakota, joining the Navy on Delayed Entry and arriving at basic training three days after graduating from high school. Scott deployed seven times during his 30 year career in the military; four of which were to the Persian Gulf, with two being in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. He served as Command Master Chief for Fighter Squadron Two at Naval Air Station Oceana, Virginia. In July 2003, he moved to Lemoore, where he served as Command Master Chief for Strike Fighter Squadron 2, Commander Strike Fighter Wing Pacific, Strike Fighter Squadron 125 and Strike Fighter Squadron 122. Scott retired from the Navy in 2011.
While on active duty, Scott earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Organizational Leadership from Chapman University. He came to work for Kings County as the Deputy Public Guardian and Veterans Service Officer in February 2014. Scott is married to Judy. They have five sons, three of whom live in California and two in South Dakota. In his free time, Scott enjoys sport shooting, golf and traveling with his wife.
Codi HickeDeputy Veterans' Service Officer/Public Guardian
Codi grew up in Modesto, California, joining the Navy on the Delayed Entry Program and arrived at basic training shortly after graduation from high school. Codi served as a Hospital Corpsman and was stationed at Naval Hospital Oak Harbor in Whidbey Island, Washington and Naval Health Clinic in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
After her years in the Navy, Codi earned her Masters Degree in Business Administration in Management from California Coast University. She came to work for Kings County as a Public Guardian Technician in August 2012, promoted to Deputy Public Guardian in July 2013, and to Deputy Public Guardian/Veterans Service Officer in July 2016. Codi is married to Robert. They have two young daughters. In her free time, Codi enjoys re-energizing on a cruise, attending her kids multiple extracurricular activities, and spending time with her family at Disneyland.
Christina WoodardsSenior Veterans Service Representative
Christina Rodriguez-Woodards was born and raised in La Puente, California. She joined the Navy after graduating from High School in 1999. She served as an Aviation Administration (AZ) for 9 years in VFA-94, VFA-122, and VFA-2. During this time, she made two WestPac deployments; one of which was to the Persian Gulf in support of Operation Enduring Freedom aboard the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson.
Christina came to work in our office in the summer of 2012 as a Work Study while she was attending West Hills Community College. She graduated with an Associate of Science in Psychiatric Technician, and is continuing her education at the University of Phoenix in the Health Care Administration Bachelors Program.
Christina has a very strong passion for helping veterans and enjoys coming to work everyday. Her genuine smile not only lights up the office, but makes veterans and family members relaxed and reassured that she is going to help them with what ever problem arises.
Kevin RennerVeterans Service Representative
Kevin grew up in the Central Valley of California and joined the Navy shortly after high school. Kevin’s deployments to the Persian Gulf included support of Operations Earnest Will and the first deployment of the F/A-18 Hornet aboard the USS Constellation. He has served as Operation’s Chief of Combat Camera Group Pacific providing support to world wide missions and operations; as Command Technical Inspector of Fleet Imaging Command Pacific he conducted INSURV and sea trial inspections for ships operating in the Pacific Fleet.
In August 2002, Kevin moved to Lemoore where he served as Chief Petty Officer in Charge of Fleet Imaging Facility Pacific and retired from the Navy in 2006. Kevin started working at Kings County in 2006 as a Micrographic Technician, and in 2015 he begun working as a Veterans Service Representative.
Veteran Work Studies
Genevieve Twing AKA Genny grew up in Plano, TX where she attended Frisco High School. Genny enlisted in the Navy as a Storekeeper (later to become a Logistics Specialist) in March 2008 and was stationed at HSC-6 out of NAS North Island, Coronado CA and FRC WEST out of NAS Lemoore. She deployed once on-board the USS Nimitz in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
She is currently working toward a Bachelors of Science in Business with a Hospitality Management Certificate. Genny came to work as a work study in our office in August of 2015. She hopes to graduate and work full time with in the Hospitality field and eventually become Certified in Exhibition Management (CEM).
